Day 6: 29 Faces

For this project, I was doing double duty, because this is my 6th face for the 29 Faces challenge, but it also fulfills the 50 Canvases in 2014 challenge on wonderstrange, where the challenge for this week was to paint on a black canvas.



I skipped gesso, mixed up a flesh tone, and painted it directly onto the black.


My concept for the painting was a woman who has the same issue I do: I have an angel on my shoulder, but I have no corresponding devil, dammit!  Put another way, show me a rule, and I want to follow it.  It's one of my least favorite things about myself.

    Nice!! She is so ethereal looking, and I love the star stencil. And that poor sad face. And the body positioning is awesome! :D

      Thanks, sugarpie! She is very sad. She just wants a devil on one of those shoulders!

    Oh my gosh, the cute teeny angels! Haha she does remind me of you just a little bit. Love the hair. Love the hunched shoulders and worried look!
